  1. It is very hard to find pictures that are really positive for even adult drinking.  It harms society in general, provably.  Higher crime rate, broken homes, children whose parents drink away their good food budget, parents who abuse their children while drunk, etc.

You probably can look online at the ads for adult drinking, though, and make a point that children should not be denied adult pleasures and activities, or maybe find some pictures of younger folks having 'fun' at beach parties.  Tho I believe you will find those who study children will not in general support you.

You can look in the foreign journals online, and perhaps find some pictures there. Just be sure not to show the results in later life of early drinking!  Especially the damage to the liver and brain and other organs.  The earlier you can drink, the quicker you can get to enjoy these diseases!

Show a picture of President Bush, and how popular and competent he is, and explain how early drinking made him the thoughtful and intelligent and effective President he is.

And I will suggest you find pictures of children who have died from drinking: accidents, ODing, being a bit too silly, driving drunk, and show how it is really positive since it lowers their lifetime CO2 emissions and makes Global Warming less of an issue.

Should be interesting; would love to see what you come up with!!

  2. If you lower the drinking age, the driving age should be increased.

Take European countries - they have a low drinking age but higher driving age - They have time to learn how alcohol will affect them.  How many people have you heard of being killed in a drunk bicycle accident?

  3. While I don't much care for the idea of lowering the drinking age (having seen what alcohol did to a few family members. I'm certainly not against drinking in moderation if you can do it responsibly), I can offer a few suggestions.

For starters, find pictures of young people being responsible. (If you're supposed to caption the pictures, or if that's an option, it would be a good idea.) A young adult going to work, eating healthy, managing their home, following traffic rules, studying, etc. This shows that young people in general can be responsible adults.

Another angle would be to show pictures of young people (around 18) doing things that ARE legal, but considerably more harmful to the body (directly, not indirectly) than drinking. THe best examples I can think of are smoking and tattooing (though I have nothing against the latter). Explain in the captions how the rules seem to be backwards, and young people are permitted to do things that will harm them and others directly, but not things that would only hurt them and othersindirectly if they were irresponsible (and drove, for example)
