I am an ex- felon, class C Felony from 2002. I served 5 years supervised probation, and been off supervision since Dec. 2007. My charge was posession of marijuana. Since I have been charged it has been miserable applying for jobs and embarssing. I have put that in my past but it follows me everywhere and I cant seem to find anyone to give me a chance. I am not asking for pitty just some sort of resource. I have no problem finding a dead end job, but I am 30 years old and live in Columbia, MO and cant seem to find a job that pays more than $7.00 per hour. I cant live off that.

  1. I feel bad that you are going through this.  It's unfortunate that people who commit crimes never think of what it can do to your future on so many levels.  Ok, if you are involved in a Church, they sometimes can help you with your job situation.  There are Churches that specifically work with ex-inmates.  Also, the unemployment office should be able to help you land a job.

What are your skills, do you have a diploma, a degree, or other certificate or diploma?  Do you do construction work.  There are many people that have been in your situation that work in construction.  You can also go to your old probation officer, He or she will have resources for you.  Good Luck

I though possession of Marijuana was a misdemeanor.

I found these websites from "Prison Talk"  Hopefully this will help.
