  1. Take a wooden spoon, cover the spoon end with duct tape, and attach a pencil to the handle end of it.

Disabled children who have issues with holding items can use the large spoon end to hold it, and children with cerebral palsy who can not really use their hands to well, or children who are paralyzed from the neck down can use the soft duct taped spoon part to hold in their mouth to use their head to control the movements of the pencil.

  2. How about putting a ball on top of a paint brush. That would at least be easier to grab....right?

  3. get a washing sponge and push a pencil or paintbrush through the middle and it helps with kids who have low muscle tone and still use a fisted grasp.

those pencil grippers are great in the triangle shaped ones place the childrens fingers where they should be and not holding the pencil incorrectly.

also use objects for painting and not just a paintbrush, we use sponges, large paintbrushes, stamps, and other things.

  4. I'm thinking something you can use to extend it - like those things people use to "extended" their cigarettes - like what Cruela Deville used.

Its called a cigarette holder. I'm sure they have cigar ones too.

I'm sure you can google or search it on yahoo! to find places you can get them from. Or, just roll a piece of paper, like a cone, really tight.

  5. Take your first idea and make it better

Who cares if someone else has done it  -  you thought of it first

If you know what this other persons is like just expand on it like paint the stick to make to brighter and more fun for children and make a case to keep them in  - just out of folded cardboard of something simple lying around the house

    good luck :-)

  6. You really should have started this project a longggg time ago, thats the only tip I can give you.

Like when I get a project, i do it right away,

  7. Take an empty toilet paper roll and stuff it tight with cotton and tape the wnds w/ surgical tape or what you have available and put anything you want in the middle (Paint brush, pen etc)

Use a rubber band to hold in place on the hand.....this works with spoons ect

  8. How about a gadget that goes around the head (like around the head via the forehead) that has an extension from the forehead area to hold a paintbrush at eye level?  The child who is unable to use arms and hands could paint by using their head and, because it's at eye level, would be able to see what they are painting.

  9. Dip fruit/veggies, orange, bananas, zuchini anything with a peel really, and put paint on it. You can dip it in paper and make neat shapes, plus it is easy to grab.
