I need sewing feet for my White model no. 1855?

I have a White brand model no. 1855 sewing machine. The sewing feet are missing though. Do I need the sewing feet that specifically came with that sewing machine or are there generic ones that will work for many sewing machines, including mine? Also, where can I get them?

Thank you!

  1. There is a sewing machine parts/replacements company called Brewers out of the Chicago area. Not sure if you can order parts or if you would have to go through a store/dealer. They carry most all parts for all sewing machines.

  2. Jo~Ann's Fabric Stores have different feet for sewing machines.  They have both kinds, generic and specifically made for certain brands of machines.

  3. Whites all use "low shank" feet, which means you shouldn't have much trouble finding at least generic feet at the local fabric stores or sewing machine shops.  It would be good to know how wide a zigzag your machine is capable of making before buying  generic feet.  If you need an online source, Nancy's Notions is reliable: http://www.nancysnotions.com

(Brewer, btw, only sells wholesale, and won't sell to individuals.)
