I need short term car insurance, since i will be on vacation for 45 days in southern california,?

  2. are you renting the car?  ask your insurance company what they recommend you to do.  where are you coming from?

  3. If your insurance won't cover you in the States you will have no choice but to purchase the insurance from the car rental company because there is no short term auto insurance available for non-residents.

  4. If you're not in the US, no, it won't.  And no one in the US will give you a policy without a license issued from one of the states.  It's probably going to be easier AND CHEAPER  to just take a cab for six weeks.

  5. You'll have to buy it from the rental car company.  No one will write an insurance policy in CA, for someone without a CA driver's license and a CA address.
