Hi! On Wednesday my church has a prayer meeting. While the adults go to the prayer meeting the kids get childcare. I am one of the childcare helpers. Each week we have a craft. I cannot find good crafts. What are some simple crafts for kids around ages 2-8?

  1. Construction paper and color crayons are Magic....get sparkles or stickers also.

Can buy ceramic (small) figurines at Walmart..and some paints...lovely!!

  2. Painting, drawing. Sometimes they like to just do their own thing. Of course you may want a themed lesson, I don't know!

I just did this craft with my Sunday school class.

find a picture of Noah's Ark. Let the kids color it however they like, then cut in out (little ones may need assistance). Then you will need a paper plate, fold it in half. Glue the ark to the fold on the plate. Draw waves below the ark. If this is done correctly you can set the plate up w/ ark on top of the "water" and if you push one end of the plate down the ark will rock back and forth in the ocean!!!!

             Hope this helps!!!!

  3. I do a lot of babysitting and I go to the dollar store and often find really sweet crafts for the kids.  They'll have things like a small piggy bank they can paint witth a few paints and brushes included, and lots of things like foam frames they can make etc.. good luck :)

  4. sock pupets

    paint

    paper dolls

    crayons are fun...

    have fun

  5. coloring for little kids maybe. for the older kids i dont know. one year i made flip flops boxes for jesus walking on water.  and inside we put prayers and stuff.

  6. one time someone bought children little wooden morracas and snakes and stuff (i think it was out of oriental trading) and they also got some wood coloring markers and the kids had a blast!

you could also go for the never miss computer paper and markers lol

  7. Get some plastic Easter eggs that hold candy, etc. from a dollar store. Use a Sharpie & draw letters, words, symbols, etc. on both sides of the egg so that they can be spun around and matched to spell things. Works well for younger kids. Have fun

  8. im a nursery nurse and work in the 2-3 room. crafts are kinda difficult with that age cos they need alot of help. but paper mache hot air balloons are good.. they can attempt to blow up the baloon and can be helped to put the paper mache on the balloon then they can paint it.

i cant really think of anything else of the top of my head but i hope this helped!

  9. Make paperr chains: they cut paper into strips, glue one strip into a circle, pass another strip through the circle, and glue it into a circle, etc. They can color the paper first, or put stickers on it.

Also they can make masks by drawing faces on the backs of white paper plates.  Make big holes for eyes and mouths.  Then make a small hole in each side of the plate, and tie pieces of string, so the plates can be tied on as masksy.
