Question:

I need so much sleep now-a-days, why?

In the summer, of course, I slept in and stayed up late- I got about 13 hours of sleep a day. When school started I was fine sticking to having 7 hours of sleep. But, I fell asleep in class about two weeks ago and decided to pull back my time to get more sleep. The time changed to 8 o’clock! So now I go to bed at 8, although I’m 14, and get up at 6.

Why do I need so much sleep? Is there any way I can sleep less? It’s hard to try and finish my homework by 8 o’clock and deal with sports and stuff and still get all the sleep.

  1. for every 1 hr of sleep you get 2hr of being awake, your body heals when you sleep, you need sleep in order to live so there is no real way to sleep less

  2. You need at least 8 hours of sleep a night. When you are not in school your body is more relaxed and doesn't require much fuel. Since school started your body is "alert" all day. Physically and mentally your body is moving, thus the need for more sleep. Nine hours is superb if you can get it.
