I need some Mexican vacation location ideas?

We are both in our twenties that would enjoy some culture, fun, relaxing in the day and a nightlife at night. Local nightlife would be preferred but touristy nightlife is ok too.

I have gone to Mexico for years and in the tourist areas if you stay alert by that I mean don't get stinking drunk and pass out on the beach you will be fine. The police really protect the Americans they love our dollar coming in Cancun is great for young people and you can take day trips for the culture. Ixtapa Zih. is laid back and you would probably get very bored as well as in Huatuclo PV would be fun as well but make sure you stay in town and NOT in Nueveo as the taxi's are expensive. Stay in the all iclusive so you can drink and eat free. It's a good choice for yound adults.

Puerto Escondido and Bahias de Huatulo are both like what you are looking for.  Zihuatanejo

The dangerous parts are in the upper Baja and the road down from San Diego and the thugs to the best of my knowledge have not been apprehended.

They have been activating police red lights and robbing you on the roadside and leaving you there while they drive away in your vehicles.

The rest of Mexico is far safer that the rest of the U.SA.

The usual places like Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vajarta, and Cozumel should suit you both nicely but if you go, do be very very careful.  There are reports aplenty of American tourists being held up and robbed and some women even reporting rapes.  Kidnappings are also at an all time high.  I live in San Diego and many tourist companies have stopped all surfing and kayaking excursions to Mexico because of the dangers there.  Its really that bad now so please be very careful.  A good alternative would be Costa Rica.
