Okay so I have an Olympus Stylus 760. About a month ago it stopped working. I was at a friend's house and I plugged it in to charge. It charged for maybe 30 minutes (I know that's not enough to fully charge it) When I tried to turn it on again it wouldn't work. I have no idea what happened to it. I didn't drop it, get any water in it, or put it in a temperature it's not supposed to be in, etc. So then I started thinking it might have something to do with the battery. I got a Digipower replacement battery today. I put it in my camera and it still wouldn't turn on so I charged it for a few minutes again. Usually if my other battery was empty I could charge it for lie 3 mintutes and it would work for like 2. So that's what I was trying to do with this new battery. There's a red light on the charger that means it is charging. It stayed on for a while but now it truned off. So I took out the bettery, put it back in, and the light only stays on for like a minute or less. This also happened to my original battery a few weeks after my camera stopped working. I don't know what the problem is. Have any ideas? Also, I want to upload some pictures from my camera but I can't because nothing happens when I plug it in. So what I want to do is some how connect the memory card to my computer, but I don't know how, or where to put it. Help. Oh, and I have a Dell in case that helpes. Thanks! =]

  1. From your description it sounds like your charger is defective. The light only staying on for a minute is the clue here,it did it with the new battery as well.

  2. You may need to clean the battery and camera electrical contacts. The link below will show the best way to make sure you have good clean electrical contacts.

It might help to remove the batteries from the camera for at least one minute.  This will allow the camera to reset or restore, but you should make sure the batteries are clean as shown in the link below.

  3. I have bad news for you- Olympus Stylus cameras are c**p. I learned this not half an hour ago, as I have my own issues concerning my camera and upon surfing the internet for answers I stumbled upon an article saying how Olympus Stylus cameras have several faults in its make-up that end up breaking the camera after a few year's usage (this battery thing might be one of them). It might be best to invest in a new camera altogether (don't forget to save the memory card).

  4. you need to charge it longer or else it won't work. do you have a usb port? if you do you have to plug the left side of it into the computer and the right in the camera  then maybe it will work when you upload it.

                                                                            awsome maina

  5. When you get a new battery you need to charge it for a cuple of hours. When you put the battery to charge "for awhile", exactly how long? You really shouldn't put it in the charger for a couple of minutes then take it out then put it back in etc.. That's not good for the battery. Perhaps by doing that, the battery wore out faster. Now that aside, I think you might have problems with the camera. That's surprising b/c Olympus has been a pretty good camera brand for awhile.

Have you tried checking some troubleshooting information from the disc that comes with it?

  6. It sounds like you are going to need to use an external card reader to mount the memory card as an external drive. Then directly download your photos.

I'm not sure what's going on with your camera. I would suggest contacting Olympus tech support and see if they can help you figure out what is wrong with your camera.
