i've only played volleyball for 2 years...one year where i got barely any playing time cause i was learning the game and the last year i started but it was the lowest level team at my school. i haven't touched a volleyball since like last season...a year ago. i transferred schools now and the teams are better. i'm trying to figure out if i should even try to play since i'm already a junior in h.s. anybody have any good advice for me?

  1. I had that same dilema this past week.  i didn't know whether i should try out or not for the teams at my school, thinking i would probably not even make the freshman team.  I didn't want to waste my time by going and not making any team, so i was almost positive i wouldn't go especially when the night came i became incredibly nervous.  But, at the last second, i decided to go, and made it through the tryouts.   I got to know the coaches and learned what they looked for in a player and i met some really cool people.  Also, if you go to the tryouts, meet the coaches, and work hard, and practice outside of the tryouts they REALLY notice.  So when the time came for the teams to be decided, I found out I made the JV team, and I've never played before on a team.  Really, I think you should go for it.   If you don't, you might always wonder.. could i have actually made it?   Good luck! i hope everything turns out well

  2. Start practicing again.

You should just refresh your skills.

You still have an equal chance of making the team.

Maybe this coach is looking for something that you have.

You probably still have some skill left in you.

    Give it a go!

  3. Here is my theroy on that....Do you like playing volleyball? Would you like to play on the team? Whats the worst that could happen if you did try out? You might not make it. Oh well at least you tried. What is the best that could happen if you tried out? You make the team and have a blast playing valley ball. Now what is the best that could happen if you DIDN'T try out? You might have some spare time on your hands. Whats the worst that could happen if you DIDN'T try out? You will wonder and regret all year long that you didn't try out and be bummed because your not out there playing when there was a possibility you could have been if you had only tryed out. Moral to the story GO TRY OUT FOR THE TEAM YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOOSE!  Good luck :-)
