Question:

I need some advice...

For the last two years I have been attending college full-time, I'm married and my husband works full-time. Here lately, we have been running very short on money and have had to borrow some fairly large amounts from my mom. I don't like doing it, and feel really guilty for asking her for it. Examples would be for our taxes (thanks to a mistake on a w-4) and then she paid our bills for the entire month of July because my husband was off work for medical reasons. (His disability won't kick in until this week). Am I a horrible free-loader, because I sure do feel like one. I guess I just need someone to tell me yes or no.

  1. No.

  2. As long as your mom isn't putting herself in jeopardy, then your ok. Most parents' entire lives consist of helping out their children

  3. i think you're mother likes to help you too. You never mention that she don't like doing it. Maybe you can be a working student. Don't worry about that. you sau you're a college student so it means that your mother didn't make you complete your studies so it's now her chance.

please help me with my prob.

  4. Well, parents are there for you while your still growing and going through life (such as college). It's not free loading - unless you do it just because you can. Just make sure that you try to help her out when she starts getting older - because she will probably need it. She loves you and is helping you through a hard time - just don't take it to your advantage - and by the sounds of it - your not.

    Hope everything turns out better!

  5. Everyone needs a little help every now and then. You shouldn't feel like a free loader. You should feel lucky that you have someone that can help you out in your time of need.

  6. make sure you pay back ALL her loans whether she wants the money or not. everyone struggles and thats what parents are for just make sure that you re-pay her!!

  7. If you pay her back, it wouldn't be freeloading. Just pay her back her money when you can.

  8. No you're not.  Lots of kids at sometimes in their lives need help.  It's nothing you did on purpose & was of no fault of our own.  Might come a time in your lives when your children also need help.  You KNOW you'll be there for them too.  We parents just understand, & are just grateful we can be of help.  I'm sure that's the same way your mom felt when she helped you.  Just be gratfeul she could help, & let her know. Better times w/come for you.  Best to you...:)

  9. No not at all. shes your mother thats what mothers do.they help you out when it gets tough.
