Currently I have no job, I live with my little brother and mother and am currently paying all bills with money I have left over from a law suit.. I have 50,000 dollars left before I go broke, and was wondering what you guys/gals think would be the best thing I should/could do with this money, and as far as school I only have my high school diploma

  1. I believe you need to invest in the one thing that will serve you best....yourself.

Your first priority is to get a job. You have only a high school diploma which is a  fine first step but YOU SHOULD ALREADY SEE THAT YOU NEED TRAINING OR SKILLS TO CONVERT YOURSELF INTO A MARKETABLE ASSET.

Do you live close to where you can attend a vocational skill teaching health related skills, i.e. medical/dental assistant, technician or practical nursing with courses that lead to graduation in one year or less?

Health care is the most expanding field for the next decade and  where you can advance your skills, training and income potential most readily.

Maybe you will be offered legal related courses as paralegal but your limited education credentials will hamper your hiring and advancement.

You might also look for computer courses, but be careful of the tremendous numbers of courses that are useless and not leading to employment.

Good secretarial skills translate into becoming an administrative assistant as you acquire business knowledge. This requires your continuing education in a variety of courses including English and Math. A few computer courses should also be in order.

Can you find a part-time job while you obtain the training you need. This will slow your steady economic decline.

This places your investment in the only thing that is guaranteed and that is yourself.

Good Luck and let me know if I can provide any further fatherly advice.

  2. I would first place 10,000.00 in savings for yourself. Unless their is a reason your mom should not or cannot work she should be paying bills. Depending on your brother;s age he should get somein goin I would then give mom 20,000.00 buy myself a good reliable car, get a job and my own place

  3. hello - i would get a job if you can,  50K will not last long.  you should start to get more coming in and see what you can save for your future instead.  I would also consider going back to school.  good luck!

  4. You need a solid investment which will let you gain some interest on the sum you have.
