  1. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

this is the one i used when I had Windows. My suggestion would be for you to save money and buy a Mac.

  2. Avast antivirus - http://www.avast.com/

    AVG - http://free.avg.com/

    Both OK and freeware

You can also try HiJackThis - http://www.download.com/Trend-Micro-Hija...

If not, you could go manual...

First, stop the suspicious process from running processes (ctrl+alt+del, task manager/processes, find it and stop it). Then, go start/run and type msconfig.exe, than go to startup. If it's there, deselect it. If it's there, you can also find the location of the infected file (usually it's c:\, c:\windows or c:\windows\system32). So, after you've stopped it, you can delete it. Hope I helped...

  3. Some of those suggestions are OK (AVG, HijackThis are both good - but probably won't help you if your system is already compromised). I'm surprised no one suggested Combofix.

And (once you get this cleaned up) to prevent this in the future, use Spybot's "System Settings Teatimer." It will disallow any unauthorized registry edits (it will prompt you to approve them).

Hijackthis! is a very powerful registry tool, but you sort of have to know what you're doing.

Sorry, Apple kids, the solution to every problem is NOT "buy a Mac." Since more people are using them, they are becoming less secure... in fact the Macbook Air was the first to be wirelessly hacked in a recent test against XP, Vista and Ubuntu. Obviously, Ubuntu won.

XP Pro is potentially a pretty secure OS, in knowledgeable hands.

FYI, subscription based anti-virus programs are not effective because they only crosscheck the contents of your machine against a finite list. So, if something's not on the list, it can't see it. This includes Spybot, Spy Sweeper, etc. But Spybot's "Teatimer" is a PRO-ACTIVE solution, which assumes anything unknown is unsafe and asks the user to authorize it. This is the only way to be sure. I have had the same XP OS running on my home machine, connected 24/7, and have not had to reformat/reinstall or clean it in over a year. All I use is Teatimer. I got rid of Symantec and the other expensive clients. It's best to use a combination of defenses, but at least ONE should be pro-active.

Another really bulletproof pro-active firewall is called... Neoava Guard. It's still in its beta stage, but it's already really good.

Also, what browser are you using? Try to stay away from Microsoft Internet Explorer.

    Good luck!

  4. download AVG thats free

  5. http://free.avg.com/ww.download-avg-anti...

    AVG is free

  6. Learn how to remove them yourself.  You can personally do everything a spy sweeper or any other program does for you, it just takes longer and is more work for you.  You can Google it and check for many methods on how to accomplish this... or... you can just get a Mac and you won't have those headaches.

  7. get spy sweeper and trend micro anti virus it works

  8. AVG is the best... we protect our pc from virus with the help of AVG

  9. i recently had that happen to my computer and i had to clear my computer of every thing. What i did is i got some writable cd's and saved all my pictures and my videos and all the stuff that was important to me. i got the os(operating system) cd that came with my computer and i wiped my cpu and re-installed the os disk and then re-did al the important stuff and then my pictures and videos. you need to check to see if your cpu came with a os disk. some files will not be able to be copied like bookmarks on internet or any game data

  10. just download anti virus like avg for free from the net

  11. Your best start is to read to this forum -

    http://www.castlecops.com/HijackThis.htm...

Which will walk you thru the tools listed -

    http://wiki.castlecops.com/Malware_Remov...

One important thing is the fact that you should completely update the Operating System and ALL of the patches. If your machine is patched for the vulnerability on the HD, then YOU cannot get infected. It is the more proactive approach (patching your machine, keeping your software updated, using the most current firmware and drivers). AV is ALWAYS reactive!

If you need any help (especially if the forum is slow), please let me know!

    Good Luck!

  12. Copy your important files to CD's or a portable hard drive. Then reinstall Windows.

  13. Now I will not guarantee that the software I mention will completely rid you of all your problems, because when you get into all the things you mention here it may require a pro to look at it. To get you started though:

Avast AV is a 100% free anti virus sotware

For spyware, spybot is good but does not catch everything, also try

    Lavasoft's Ad-Aware 2008 Free

As I say this will get you started on the road to disinfection but some spyware will play with your windows registry and make it difficult to completely get rid of everything which may require a reformat of your drive (worst case scenario though) If you do make sure to back only your import files

  14. either you erase everything on your pc, scan it  or you can download virus remover on download.com

  15. Try Avera free version. If you can contact me through yahoo IM i can give you the version number so that you can download it and i can give you the serial number as well. Its really effective.

    Thank You
