I need some enviromental examples....?

i already have organizations like PETA and the Go Green! campaign, but i need more examples of how society is trying to preserve the enviroment.. maybe some more organizations or a person who has been real influential??

People have started recycling in most areas, and they often have township clean-up days where people volunteer their time to clean local rivers or ponds. They also have more education for the children about environmental responsibility. And consumers are turning to eco-friendly lightbulbs, etc, wherever such things are available, which means the public at large is willing to go the distance. Not all examples of societies preserving the environment are known groups like PETA or Greenpeace. In fact, most are not associated with them.
