  1. have you tried the cedar plank salmon yet?

It is truly a great treat.

There's always brisket, ribs, ham, roast, turke's you can try your hand at smoking.

Her'e a link to the cedar plank salmom:

  2. Grilled pizza is fun and interesting- just cook the dough on a loww (but not too low) flame flip when brown on one side and add toppings and heat until bottom is done. Have all of your toppings prepped and ready because there is no time to waste!

  3. Me and my friends had an cool cookout a couple years ago. Some guy brought these teriyaki beef rolls. They were really thin slices of marinated beef rolled around asparagus. They were soo good.

  4. I love grilled pineapple and cantaloupe...grill it just long enough to get the nice grill marks on both sides and then put it in bowls, add vanilla ice cream, and a little raspberry liqueur (adults) or raspberry ice cream topping.  SOOO good, and tastes like summer!

  5. Why not do a surf and turf? Deep fried shrimp, Deep Fried Dill Pickles (They are so delicious! And, it's different!) Honey Barbeque Ribs, Corn on the cob w/ Basil Butter, Sweet Onion & Cucumber Salad, Shrimp w/ Avacados & Rice Salad, Bite size beef cubes coated with a pack of Lipton Onion Soup Mix, Grilled potatoes, and you can still do Kabobs, just change it up a bit. On a Kabob have grilled chicken cubes, chunks of pineapple, green peppers, and onions.

  6. These ideas are some of the things I have experimented with that have gone over well, but they are a little odd for some people at first.

The first is grilled polenta.  I make the quick cooking polenta according to the package directions with chicken stock instead of water.  Then at the end I mix in a handful of parm cheese, about 3 tbsp. butter, fresh basil, and a little extra salt and pepper.  Pour this into a cookie sheet and let cool.  Then cut into squares and grill.  Just put on grill when you flip add a little more parm cheese to the top.  Serve with marinara.

Another thing is grilled pineapple kebabs.  They are really good.  Make sure it's fresh pineapple.

I don't know exactly how he makes it (it's top secret), but my uncle grills his turkey each Thanksgiving.  I know he soaks it in salt water with other seasonings the night before, and he adds a few packs of wood chips (I think applewood) and puts it on the grill with the turkey.

Also, try some chorizo.  I brush some olive oil on bread and toast on the grill.  When I flip I add some manchego cheese and let melt.  Then grill the chorizo.  It's so good.

My daughters favorite is grilled clams.  Blech, but she loves them.  In a foil pan I melt a whole pound of butter, you will have leftovers, but this way the clams are plenty buttery.  To the butter I add the juice of 1 fresh lemon and about 3 tbsp. fresh parley.  Just put the clams on the grill until they pop open.  When they are open put them right into the butter.

  7. mini or large stuffed potabella mushrooms

  8. You could try Chicken sandwhiches and vegies fruit and meat on a stick is awsome and look on the internet other than answers for ideas!!!! :p

  9. Been there!  Done that!  Bought the apron!

    You didn't mention lamb...

The night before:  Take a boneless leg of lamb, flattened out and smear liberally with crushed garlic (starts off good, huh?), salt, coarse pepper, and mint.  Fresh is better but dried works.

Put it in a Large bag or dish and cover with... plain yogurt.

I'm not a big yogurt fan, but, trust me on this, it's worth it.

    Refrigerate overnight.

Don't rinse it or wipe it off, just put it on a good HOT grill, and again, trust me, it doesn't make the mess you might think.

Turn and cook to med-med/rare.  Allow to rest.  Slice thinly and stand back.

Here's the best part.  A little sliced onion, tomato, cucumber some tadziki sauce (http://www.recipezaar.com/59336) and some pitas, and you can feed an Army!  Throw in some cold beer and olives and party on!

The leftovers are excellent as well.

    Best wishes!
