Question:

I need some good alcoholic beverage ideas for a BBQ?

I am planning on having a barbeque tomorrow in celebration of the 4th. For food I'm having a build-your-own shish kabob with chicken, beef, and shrimp. We're having tossed salad on the side, potato salad and baked beans. I want some summery alcoholic beverage ideas for the adults, but I have never really made any drinks before aside from simple daquiris and such. Can anyone suggest some tasty drinks that everyone will like, and recipes are appreciated??

  1. Go to foodnetwork.com they have great drinks that are easy to make!!

  2. budwieser

    french lager

  3. Put out one or 2 blenders, and make frozen margaritas! ... I like Mango best, but you can get any fruit mix - and maybe plain too - with ice on the blender.........My friend even found plastic cups that had salt already on the rim!

  4. Beer Margaritas

    1 corona light

    frozen limeade (I use minute maid)

    12 oz z-up

    silver tequila (I usually fill the minute maid can half or 3/4)

    Lime juice (one or two limes)

    If it is too strong add z-up. Its easiest to adjust the zup and tequila.

  5. Beer is really the way to go!

    You could do a sangria (wine with fruits mixed in)

    Or go with frozen drinks! Daiquiris, margaritas, pina coladas, etc.

  6. sangria is easy to make, some canned fruit and cheap red wine, those that are sold in the gallon? mix it up with ice, and you have sangria!

    also mojitos, are vry easy, all you need is mint, rum, glucose, and lots of ice, yummy!

  7. *  1 1/2 oz. Schnapps, peach

        * 1 1/2 oz. Vodka

        * 2 oz. Cranberry Juice

        * 2 oz. Orange Juice

        * 2 oz. Pineapple Juice

    Pour in a highball glass with ice.  Nice and fruity for summer.

  8. Probably best to keep it relatively simple so you can enjoy yourself. Consider sangria (like the previous suggestion) or wine spritzer (wine with added 7-up or sprite).

    Caipirinha's and Mojitos are cool, but they can be a lot of work to make, especially if you're just learning how to do cocktails. I would stick with something simple. Margarita's are always a nice summer cool-off cocktail, and you can always use the pre-made mixers if you don't want to spend a lot of time (and money) on scratch ingredients.

    Most people get them frozen (using ice and blended in a heavy duty blender) but you can always just make them on the rocks if you don't already have a blender.

    Don't forget a chilled white wine is a good option, something like a pinot grigio or similar, and white Zinfandel is a good wine for BBQ and warm weather, and beer never fails for July 4th!

    Hope your BBQ turns out great!

  9. Vodka Lemonades are great for hot days!

    you could have a array of different juices like lemonades, orange juice, pineapple juice, cranberry juice and a big bottle of vodka for a "Vodka Bar"

  10. Try a Caiparinha, it's a great before or after dinner drink.  The receipe calls for sugar cane alchol but you can replace it with Vodka.

    Frozen Mud Slides are great as well.
