  1. tell the monk joke!

NOTE: This is a long joke, please read it. DO NOT read the last part first. It WILL spoil the joke.

Steve, was driving down the road after going to a party for his 24th birthday. It was raining and Steve's visibilty was getting bad. It eventually got too bad so he decided to stop and wait for the rain to stop. Across the road from where Steve stopped was a monastry. Steve decided the rain wasn't going to lighten any time soon so he entered the monastry. Inside he was greeted by a monk. "Hello, I'm Steve." "Hello. How may I help you?" "It is raining hard and it is too hard for me to drive home." "Would you like to sleep here for the night?" asked the monk. Steve heard the rain getting harder, so he accepted. That night as Steve layed in the bed he heard a strange noise. The next day he was going to ask the monk about the noise, but he decided not to after how helpful the monk had been. 20 years later, Steve was driving down the same road after celebrating his 44th birthday. Again it was raining. He drove past the monastry. He thought about what had happen 20 years ago. Steve pulled over and entered the monastry. Inside he was greeted by a monk. "Hello, I'm Steve." "Hello. Yes, I know. I remember you 20 years ago. How may I help you?" "It is raining hard and it is too hard for me to drive home." "Would you like to sleep here for the night?" asked the monk. Again Steve agreed. That night Steve heard the same sound. The next day he asked the monk what the noise was. The monk replied, "I can't tell you, you have to be a monk." "How do I become a monk?" asked Steve. "First you have to go through a series of questions," the monk replied. "When can I have these questions?' "Right now if you wish." "Then what are we waiting for?" Steve answered the question truthfully. "Steve, you are now a monk, congratulations." "So where can I find this noise?" The monk pointed down a flight of stairs. Steve went down the stairs. There was a door. It was locked. So Steve went up the stairs again and asked for the key. The monk gave him the key. Steve went down the stairs again. He opened the door with the key. There inside him was another door, which was locked. So Steve went through the previous door and up the stairs and asked for the second key. The monk gave him another key. Steve went down the stairs again. Steve then realised that he forgot the first key to the first door. So he went up the stairs again to get the first key. He went down the stairs and opended both doors. He entered the next room which was pitch black. He went back through the doors and up the stairs. He asked the monk for a candle. Steve went down the stairs again and through the doors. When he was in the next room he needed a match for his candle. So he went back through the door and up the stairs and asked for a matchbox. He went down the stairs and realised that he forgot the first key to the first door again. So Steve went up the stairs and asked for the first key. He went down the stairs and through the 2 doors. He checked inside the matchbox, but there were no matches inside. Steve then went back through  the doors and up the stairs. This time he asked for a battery-powered torch. He went down the stairs and through the doors. He turned on the torch, but the battery was dead. So he went back through the doors and up the stairs. Steve asked the monk for new batteries. So Steve went down the stairs and through the doors. Steve inserted the batteries and turned on the torch. There in front of him was a pond. He headed back through the doors and up the stairs. Steve asked the monk for a swimsuit. He tried the suit on but it didn't fit. So Steve asked for another suit. He recieved another suit. Steve tried the new suit which was a perfect size. He went down the the stairs and through the door, but he forgot his torch. So he headed back through the doors and up the stairs. He asked the monk again for his torch. Steve went down the stairs and through the doors and use the torch. He entered the pond and realised that the pond led into a long, water-filled pathway. He went back to the surface and through the door and up the stairs. He asked the monk this time for an oxygen tank. He went down the stairswith the keys, torch, swimsuit and oxygen tank. Steve went through the door and arrived at the pond. There he put on his swimsuit and oxygen tank and went through the water pathway. When he arrived across the other side he raised up to the surface and there in front of him was a door. The door was locked. So Steve went back through the pond and the doors and up the stairs. Steve asked the monk for the next key. The monk handed the key to Steve. Steve then went back down the stairs, through the doors and the water pathway and through the 3rd door. After going throught the last door Steve saw the thing that was making the noise. guess what it was!

    i can't tell you! you're not a monk!
