I need the room divider to be about 3 feet tall. I am needing them to be sturdy so that thay cannot be moved easily. I am separating play areas for children. Any ideas would be great!!

  1. Folding room dividers can be as enduring as a half-height wall or as temporary as a freestanding screen.

The advantage of wooden room dividers, aside from their flexibility, is that you can buy them or decorate them yourself to suit the character of the room.

Room dividers don't increase the space at your disposal, but they provide a degree of privacy, without sacrificing the use of the entire space.

  2. Ikea makes a 4 cube by 2 cube shelf that would work.  It's about 18" by 48" X 24".  You can use it either tall (4 high) or short (2 high).  Light baskets can be placed in the holes to provide a visual barrier as well as storage for toys.  Ikea sells boxes that fit the holes as well, but we chose to make our own.  We use ours upright to provide a cubicle for our laptop in the dining room.  Works great!

  3. How about a dollhouse? or playhouse? Bookshelves?

  4. Use stack able storage cubes, or bookcases.  Target has different types, one is just square boxes that you fit together the other is sectioned into shelves and part has doors.  This will give you additional toy storage too.

  5. i would try small bookcases that could double as dividers and storage... you could also paint the backs )if exposed) with magnetic paint or chalkboard paint to let the creativity flow...
