  1. I,v just hand reared 2 kittens that are now 6 weeks old. i also have 2 german shepherds. 1 is a madam and likes to chase small animals but i know my dogs and time and patience will work. Daily i brought the cats down in there cat box for saftey and let the dogs and kittens have a good sniff through the bars, if my dogs show anything out of order, a flick with water with my finger,s from a glass thats next to me kept them in order. good hehaviour got them treats and they soon worked it out. The dogs still give chase but the older 1 know,s from past experiance,,, a cats claw in the nose bloody  hurts. It will work out, just dont leave them alone for a while as the kittens not that brave yet, and just never get angry with or hit your dog, Good luck!!!!!!! it will work.

  2. probably not a good idea to get a kitten then eh????

  3. I know this isnt what you want to hear but it is probs best that you dont get the kitten as it could result in your dog killing it and this is really bad. Even if you are with them when they meet your dog will still go mad and if it lashes out and bites you then you get hurt aswell, if you dog does lash out it will scare the kitten to death anyway and if it doesnt scare him to death then it will spend its life running and hideing and thats not much of a life. If you still get the kitten thats really selfish and unresponsible i hope you make the right choice sorry to be so blunt but i hate animal cruilty

  4. wow - why would you have gotten a cat when you know your already established dog hates them?  Anyhow ... I would take it slow, and NEVER leave them alone together.  I would let the kitten roam freely in a closed off room while allowing the dog to visit for a few minutes at a time.

  5. Not a very intelligent idea to get a kitten in the first place really.

  6. Given you know your dog hates cats, I'm really not following your logic in getting one. Good luck to the kitten, it's going to need it.

  7. location is always key. Introduce them slowly and in a location none has been before. That way no one is territorial.

get your dog in the best of moods before. also let him get use to the cat's sent beforehand. Maybe introduce him to the bedding and blankets.

  8. it can be done just introduce them to each other slowly and it would be a good idea to leave the kitten in a cat cage to start with , I have two dogs and one is old and the other is young, took the older dog longer to get use to our new kitten, they have had their tiffs but all is well now. But just dont leave them alone in a room together until you are sure dog is ok with cat

  9. If your dog hates cats, why would you even get one?

  10. it would be really hard to get a dog who hates cats used to it. usually, they get along if they both knew each other since they were little. but in this case, the dog could be hostile at any moment. but yeah, no territory, and hold the dog, if it barks or anything, hit it and yell. this should be a pain in the ***, good luck lol
