  1. Total body workouts are great for goalies.  Don't necessarily go for strength but rather speed and power.  As with any hockey position legs and core are key.  So, focus on leg and abdominal workouts.  Also workout your vision.  Focus on following and tracking objects like baseballs, insects, and things of the like (Just be careful when you do it!).  I know it sounds strange, but the better you train your eyes and yourself to focus on an object, the better your focus will be on the puck.  Train your eyes and hands to work better together.  Eat properly and maintain a regular sleep schedule and you should be good.  good luck

  2. workouts for goalies in the offseason and during the year require a lot of time and patience to improve your skills to another level

the main thing to work on is your positioning. it is very important to know where you need to be and when because good goaltending can change the course of a game and even a season with good positioning, you can make scoring much harder for opposing players

though good positioning is key, improving your skills is also a main ingredient of goaltending

depending on the age that you are at, it is always good to practice sliding from post to post to be able to cut off angles for dekes and close range shots

a great thing to work on is reflexes and hand eye coordination, juggling is a common way to enhance both of the above

another thing to work on is flexibility so you can stretch your body to fill the net, this can be accomplished by stretching daily

these simple techniques can help you master the fundamentals of goaltending and will make you a better goaltender
