I need some help, just feeling down in multiple ways

Hello. I have always been known as someone happy and relaxed, but recently I have changed a bit. To start, I am already worried to death about school this year. It hasn't started yet, but I am already worrying about getting bad grades. I need to read East of Eden and To Kill a Mockingbird, and keep fearing I won't get it done in time, actually telling myself I don't have a chance to finish it... School is just really making me nervous.

I have been overly tired lately, I never want to leave my bed, I don't feel like talking to my family or anything, I only want to talk to my best friend and a few other friends.

I have lost my usual appetite, where I used to be a big eater, and my parents think it is a problem. I only drink water or milk now and will have 2 small meals a day.

Any idea what my problem could be?

  1. Anxiety. Stress. Your too tired to worry about anything, and are really stressed about everything. Try taking a nice bubble bath. Or, go to your local Lifetime Fitness Club and go in the hot tub (Or any other hot tub.) It will relieve our stress too. Set up a schedule for reading your books. If you ride the bus to school, or someone drives you there; Read in the car or bus. If it gives you headaches, read right before bed, not only will it  make you peaceful and ready to sleep, it will get your reading done too! Try eating more small meals, but 4 tiems a day. That way you'll eventually get your appietite back, which is probably only lost because of your stress and anxiety.

    Hope this helps!!!

  2. By no means should you trust everything you find online, most of us aren't experts who can ideally help you. That said, you're stressing yourself out all by, well, yourself.

    Don't.

School hasn't even started yet and you're panicking. Only get stressed when you're faced with a situation. That's something I learned this year (I'm going to university in the fall).

I'm a slow reader as well, but I'm proactive. It's a daunting task to imagine but the books are coming whether you like it or not. So why not go to the library and start reading them now? Come school time, you will be miles ahead of everyone and it'll all be review. Don't quit before you've even started.

As for your other problems, it might have to do with the summer. I'm sure your internal clock is a bit wonky now that you can sleep in every morning. Try setting a few goals, waking up and going to sleep at a solid interval, and eating scheduled meals -- no matter how small or large they might be. Go for a run -- just stay outdoors for a few hours.

And remember, always retain hope. It's a crummy situation but you'll get through it. Good luck and have a great first year!

  3. Your tired more because your stressing yourself out, that's probably why you are eating less as well. Life's too short don't panic about it. Also don't worry about things in the future, try studying a little bit every week.

And remember everyone gets nervous about starting school again. So just try and relax.
