right well, me and my mom both have phone contracts. my moms tmobile contract runs out next month. my 3 contract runs until january! were going to get a new contract to replace my moms but i want the new phone to use with my contract, and she wants the new sim to use with her old phone! we don't quite know how to get around this though because we have been told that 3 sim cards do not work in other unlocked phones and i quite like the samsung g600 but it doesnt come in 3. we are looking to spend no more than £20 a month on the new contract and it needs to have more minutes than texts. can anyone provide a suitable way to get around this? please help.x

  1. You're right that 3 lock their mobile phones AND sim cards onto their own network which means that you cannot put a 3 sim card into a mobile phone that is not 3

You also cannot put a sim card that is not 3 into a 3 mobile phone

    annoying, i know

What you could do is get both mobile phones unlocked so that way the sim cards will work in the phones.  This can be done on most phones and costs about £10.  However not all phones, especially  the newer versions, can be unlocked.

The other thing you could do is go for the simple option that you just swap phones, sim cards and contracts with your mum.

When your looking for a new contract I would suggest going into a shop that is not tied to a specific network (phones4u or carphone warehouse)

Tell them exactly what kind of contract you want, and what phone you want it on and they will do a quick search of the networks to see which one has the best deal for you.

From personal experience I would suggest you stay away from 3 in the future.  They gave me nothing but hassle with my phone.

    Hope this helps
