Question:

I need some help cheating IMac parental controls!

My family has a new IMac. They set up parental controls limiting our web access and making it so we can only have 1 hour on the computer a day. My brother and I knew my moms password and could add time, but she just changed it. Does anyone know a universal administrator or other hack so that I can give myself more time on the computer?

Thanks so much!

  1. LOL!

  2. Haha... you just wasted 5 minutes of your hour asking this question. But unless you figure out your mom's password, then you're screwed.

(Oh, and to the person above me - when you hide your kids away and make them follow your rules and not express themselves at all... then they are more unruly in their teen years because they want to break away from that invisible lock you have on them. Don't discriminate on someone you don't even know - and stop bragging about the kids you probably wish were obediant.)

  3. I think that your parents set the controls for a reason.  Maybe you should just find something else to do instead of blatantly disobeying your parents.

  4. You need to respect your mother and her rules--shame on you and your brother.  I can certainly understand why she set up parental controls, with two sneaky brats in the house.

Spend your one hour on the computer and go read a book!

  5. can't you do something to EARN more time on the computer.

Can you do household chores to earn more time. How about a paper route. With the money you could buy a macbook.

Walk dogs for money. Anything you can do to show maturity, responsibility and good judgement will impress your mom.

If you act like a child trying to sneak more time, she could just password protect the log in and keep you off entirely.

As an old school geek grrl, do NOT tick her off. For your own good, listen to your mom.

    Don't get yourself grounded.
