Question:

I need some help losing weight...?

I am 16 years old and I weigh about 200+

For me, that isn't a good thing and I really need some help. I do my best to eat right, but it always seems like there's something there to tempt me (especially when my parents cook fatty stuff for dinner).

I also know excersize is important, but I can't commit. I say I'm going to do, like, 50 pushups each night, then I miss one night, say I'm going to do 100 tomorrow and then forget about it.

I'd really appreciate some serious help here. Thanks in advance.

  1. Hey there. I know how hard it is to lose weight. But you can do it. Trust me, I did. Now i am a health freak. And i am thinking about going to school to be a nutritionist it is my dream to help people eat good. Getting started is the hardest part. Trust me. Once you start dropping the weight and feeling good about yourself you wont want to stop. Now being that someone else in your family is buying the food. It might be a little bit harder. Just ask your parents to please stop buying certain foods like cookies and chips and stuff, Tell them you are serious about losing weight and all the junk food you have in your house and the food that they make is just a temptation. And you would really like it if they bought fresh fruit and veggies and made other things then fatty food for dinner. I am sure your parents will listen and understand. They want you to be healthy just as much as you want to be. Start off slow on working out. Don't force yourself to do 50 push ups every night. Do 50 push ups total all day. Like do 10 before you go to school. 10 is easy right. Then do 15 when you get home from school. Then do 10 after dinner. And another 15 before you go to bed. There you go you did 50 push ups. :) Do you have a tv in your room? How about a dvd player? If you do you should rent or buy some work out videos. And do it every other day. Do you live close by school? Walk instead of drive or ride a bus. If you ride a bus and don't live that close get off a couple stops a head of yours and walk home from there. If you drive or someone drives you then as soon as you get out of the car before you go into the house walk around the block 3-4 times. If you are on the phone talking to someone instead of sitting on the couch walk around while your on the phone. Most people do it with out knowing it anyway. And on the weekends ask your parents to either bring to the ymca, swimming, hiking, bike riding ect.. It's easiest to lose weight when people support you and work out with you. If you like you could give me your e-mail address in aditional info if you have any questions or are in need of support. Try and stay away from fast food and junk food as much as possible. drink a lot of water. Eat a lot of fresh fruit and veggies. Chicken is one of the most less fattening  and calorie meats. eat that at least 3 times a week. String cheese is good, low fat cottage cheese, nuts, egg whites, low fat yogurt, drink lots and lots of water like i said. If you don't like water so much you can buy crystal light. Hope this helps. best of luck!
