I need some help on a flooring question?

ok so my husband and i are about to move into a trailer and it needs new carpet. we havent measured the square footage yet, but we are trying right now to price carpet and tile so i was just wondering if anyone knew an estimate of square footage for a 14 x 80 trailer?

If you want to save your self some $$, pull up the old carpet and install carpet tiles yourself, they sell some beautiful ones at Lowe's, otherwise the previous answer is correct.

14 x 80 = 1120 sq ft

But 14 x 80 are probably your trailer's outside dimensions, so the inside would be slightly smaller, maybe 1050 sq ft, and you might also subtract the areas covered by kitchen cabinets, etc.  Tile prices are based upon price per sq ft, but carpet prices are based on price per sq yard.  To convert sqft into sq yards you must divide by 9.  For example 1050/9 = 117 sq yards.

Prices on tile and carpet vary greatly with product quality, so you will have to do the rest of the math once you decide which products you want for different rooms.
