I got accepted to my first choice and Im really excited but I dont think I'll be able to attend. First off, the total cost per year is 23, 700 [roughly]. I am out of state student and that includes tuition, books, room and board. I cannot get accepted for any loans because my parents make too much money. Well..thats what fafsa basically says. I applied for many student loans and cant seem to get approved for any. I did a federal loan through the school and I doubt Ill get any money from them. Am I doing something wrong? It seems like I wont be going to school. Is there any point in even trying anymore? I've tried everything [yes, I applied for many scholoarships]. Im at total lost.

and to top it all off..my parents nor school are much help. My parents just provide me w/tax info. Also..Im overseas at the moment making it impossible to do this in person..any advice would be greatly appreciated. Im completely lost.

  1. Are your parents willing to take out a PLUS (parent loan for undergraduate students) loan in their name for you? As long as they pass the credit check, that should cover the remaining funding that you would need for your school. The only thing with the PLUS loan is that it would remain in their name.

  2. If you go to my profile and e-mail me, tell me what university/college you are looking into. I can usually find methods of financial aid in which you haven't used yet.

    Good luck,

    Joshua L.
