My daughter put a DVD in to the player, but it wasn't in properly, so a bit of he DVD was poking out when she closed the drawer. Since then the player won't play any dvd properly, it keeps stopping and starting. Is this something fixable, or do I need a new DVD player?? Please help!!??!!

  1. it seems like she damaged the laser. when the cd/dvd spins the laser moves up and down the radius from the centre to the outside of the DVD to read it. and since she closed it when the cd wasnt completely in it might have moved the laser or broken it. sorry to say this but you do need a new dvd player and what ever you do DO NOT BUY RCA. they will break withing the first 20 mins:P

i recommend panasonic or toshiba. excellent brand dvd players that come with a variety of codex
