I'm so scared. This is going to sounds really stupid but please take this seriously. Over the last few days, people on the TV have been talking to me - really. I can't make them stop, so I just turn it off and sit here. I keep hearing people fighting and I can't figure out where it's coming from but it isn't in my head. There's someone trying to hurt me and my family and I don't know what to do.

Please someone help.

  1. It sounds like you're experiencing some symptoms of schizophrenia. I bet you're scared and feel like you can't tell anyone about it. But you really should, for your own good. It can turn bad quickly - I am schizophrenic and know all about it. The voices and TV talking to you aren't real.

I wish you the best of luck

  2. you need to see a doctor.

  3. if you are sure you are hearing things that aren't real then that is called an auditory hallucination.

i have seen from your other posts you def' have paranoid delusions and depression.

whatever your illness you must see a dr/psychiatrist asap.

judging by previous posts you might need higher doses or different medications.

**have a look at these illnesses and see if any soon like you:

  4. It doesn't sound stupid.I believe you 100%.I think that you are schizophrenic though. These voices could be demons trying to itimidate you.Whether or not anyone is after you and your family, that's a different story.Maybe you should not watch tv so much.It could be afecting you.Has your family had some dispute?Have you witnessed a fight? These are what you need to find the answers to.Also,if you are on medication then this might be affecting you too.My highest suggestion is that you pray to GOD about this. This is something serious, mostly internally.GOD is the only one who can handle this.I hope that I helped you.GOD BLESS you!

  5. May be a psychosis,see your doctor.

  6. call NHS direct, if in UK, or seek help elsewhere

  7. Hi Luke,

Are you sure the people in the television are not talking in general about things and your persuming it's directed at you? Has anybody else been in the room and agreed with you about this? What are they saying to you?

Perhaps the noise of people fighting is coming from outside, another tv or maybe the neighbours.

I think since you posted this in the mental health section you are wondering if this is a problem and I would say yes at this point and suggest you go to your GP and tell them and they can refer you to someone who can help better.

    best of luck

  8. u need to call the men in white coats. NOW

  9. Ok, just to state this fact:

Schizophrenics don't always hear voices from their head. it can be from a place in a room or from outside.

    BUT

Nothing to fear, maybe? maybe your just imagining the TV thing, it happens to everyone. the fighting could be from outside or a neighbours house.

Considering you've posted this in this section, you are probably worried about what's happening. The best thing you can do is first confer with your family or friends and make sure they haven't been experiencing the TV thing too.

Then, i suggest you should see your GP and explain everything that has happened. S/he should explain what your options are and will probably refer you to a phyciatrist.

  10. I have to answer this because it hits me on a personal level.  I was diagnose with bipolar type 1 with psychotic features after a very scary month and a half when I was 18.  Auditory and or visual hallucinations can occur during bipolar psychosis.  If these have been persistent it could be a sign of schizophrenia.  President Bush spoke directly to me on September 11th.  A month later I thought people were after me and others were watching me.  Long story short is it can be controlled with the help of a psychiatrist.  Talk to your parents and make sure you speak with a doctor sooner rather than later.  Have you been sleeping less?  Have an unusually high amount of energy?
