Im trying to upgrade the firmware on my router, but no matter which browser i use (firefox, IE) i get an error that tells me that the connections is timed out. Everytime i try to do it, this happens. I even configured firefox to allow extra time to wait for scripts, but i am still having trouble.

Anyone know what i can do?

  1. First, can you connect to the routers web interface?

http://192.168.1.1  or whatever?  Can you go between pages?

If all that works, you should be able to upload the new firmware image.

The router has to find your computer to get the image from firewalls sometimes stop that communication. Does the router even find your computer when you browse for the image or is that where the time out occurs?  If that is the timeout point,, simply turn off your firewall to do the update, then turn it back on.

Sometimes the IP's cause an issue as well so you might try setting a static IP ON YOUR COMPUTER (use one outside the routers dhcp range but set a static IP on your computer and use that to try the upload.)
