I need some help with 400m?

im 18 and i only got access to a athletics club 6 months ago so im not really great for my age but i like doing 200 and 100m, 25seconds and 12 seconds respectively...but today at a competition i had to do 400..first one ever

im really nervous and in the end came last but with a time of 54.60 seconds..i dont know if thats good considering experience and stuff but can anyone give me tips on how to run it well and get an awesome time ? training plans etc ? thanks

  2. Your time is pretty good for never doing it before- you just have to practice if you plan on continuing to run the 400. (for example the average for a freshman in high school is around a minute).

  4. of course, practice, and remember to stretch, and if you have or can get to a treadmill, than use it, go the distance everyday and each time time yourself and record your results

  5. -get a good start

    -then keep up with the compotion

    -start picking up your speed in the last 200m
