I need some help with Civics homework, need examples of good citizens..?

I need some examples of good citizens, or quotes that could describe a good citizen, or even song lyrics. Good citizens like Terry fox, Oprah winfrey, David Suzuki, (thats all i have right now) or things like the nobel prize, etc. i just need some more examples.

In small towns across America, people hold public office, such as mayor and town council.  These are examples of good citizens, because the receive very little or not monetary compensation.

Volunteer Fire Dept., EMTs, Boy Scout Leaders, good examples of fine citizens.  Much better examples than some celebrity whose every move is orchestrated for publicity.

Good citizens are ones that pay their taxes on time (and fairly), treat their neighbors and follow workers like they should, don't get thrown in jail, raise kids that don't get in trouble, etc. Great citizens are ones that are getting out there and doing something beyond the call of duty (which depending on how you look at it really is the call to duty). Helping the poor, needy, homeless and not just helping them in the way of giving them money or a handout but really being an example to them and doing something to help them move out of the mire that they have found themselves in.

Great citizens make a difference! Make an impact! And it doesn't have to be through TV or some big celebrity or something. Great citizens are a bit harder to find really.What qualifications makes a good citizen is the question I'd be asking then I'd start looking at everyone that actually does so.

For instance I believe voting would be considered something a good citizen does. Now go find out how many people actually vote. Start asking around. Does your family? Your teacher? Neighbor? You might be surprised at how few 'good citizens' are really out there.
