I really need help because I have to know this for my gymnastics classes. I have a trampoline at home that I can use, if that helps. I can do a smooth back walk-over but I know they're a whole lot different. I'm trying to build up muscles in my arms so that I can support myself. Anyone that can help me with this would be greatly appreciated!!!!

  1. do lots of handstand pushups against a wall.

  2. Push ups, push ups and push ups. Make sure to build your arm muscles, that way your arms won't buckle when you do your back hanspring, which is a common mistake beginners make. Also make sure that you can hold a handstand and practice snapping down out of it, just like the end of a back handspring. Gymnastics classes are good, cause they'll teach you good form and how not to undercut. Most people who "teach" themselves to do it on a trampoline, end of having bad form and undercutting, which is harder to correct. So it's better to learn good technique first, than correcting bad technique. So don't just start doing bhs on that trampoline just yet. When you get good form and have a light spot, than you can do it. Stay tight and remember there is no such thing of back handspring with to much power. Power and tightness are what makes a good solid bhs.

P.S: You'll probably soon get that handspring because you have a good back walkover, practice those back walkovers they build arm muscles and are the building block to back handsprings.

  3. Hold a handstand for a minute or so, calf raises help, too.
