  1. Its not too late to start dance - ever.... Work hard and some flexibility will come - you might even lose some extra pounds.  With work, you could be able to go on pointe within 6 months.  Several women as old as in their early 40's have done it at a studio I'm familiar with.

  2. Just start the class and see how it goes! If you stretch and practice, you'll become more flexible and will get better :) It's never too late to dance! About pointe, your teacher will know when you're ready.. my guess is if you work hard and are pretty dedicated, you'll be en pointe in about 2 years.

    Good luck!

  3. It is never to late to try something new and that you love.  I am 27, 5 feet tall and weigh 179 pounds and started hip hop dance lessons last year. I am so glad that I never let any one talk me out of it.  I love it! Live Life and Dance.

  4. omg that's amazing...u should for it!! He res some stretches that will help w ur flexibility. Flexibility comes w/ time and practice stretch everyday!!! The stretches will bcome easier and easier the more you do them. Try these:

Splits front and back/side: If you cant go down all the wathat'sts ok...you want it to hurt a little but do not over do it try holding it for a min.

Toe touches: bring your body in as close as you can into you legs.

pointing and flexing your toes: you will need your leg and calf muscles a lot!!!

Any stretching will help you...gain flexibilityiy. Also it helps to be warm to stretch like after a hot shower or a short run.

Hmmm....no i think you still can go en pointe....you will prolly have to have at least one year of ballet....mayb less depending on your skill level. To go en pointe you have to work extremly hard..but its worth it.  U have to realize that you can injure yourself en pointe so they wont let you start right away.

As for the lil xtra weight thats okay...i dont think your wanting to go professional. But they lighter you are the easier it is en pointe...so you can try to loose it. And when ur start ballet you will start tone up cuz u use every muscle imaginable!!

    Good Luck...have fun with it! = )

  5. It's not to late, and the best advice is just to never give up! Good luck, and I hope you get to go en Pointe!!!
