  2. http://www.myfirstbra.us/bra_size.htm you can put in your measurements and it should tell you

  3. If you measure 27.5" beneath your b*****s, that would put you in a 28 band size. Depending on the brand, this might be too tight, so you should also try 30s. 32.5-28 = 4.5, which rounds up to 5. A 5" difference correlates with a DD cup, so I estimate that you wear a 28DD (this would be the same cup volume as a 30D).

I can tell you from experience that you should absolutely not be wearing a 34. I have a 27" ribcage, and I used to wear 34s in high school. They were way too loose and unsupportive and caused me severe shoulder pain. You might also give yourself shoulder and back pain if you continue wearing 34s. A lot of people (here and fitters themselves) may tell you to add 4-5" to your under-bust measurement, putting you in a 32. I can also tell you from experience that most 32s are just going to be too loose at your size. Just because 28s and 30s are hard to find (especially in the U.S.!) doesn't mean that they're invalid or 'don't exist'.

Yes, 28DD may sound like a weird, scary size, and it's true that it's difficult to find in the United States. Look at it this way, though: cup sizes are proportional to the band, and a 28DD is not the same size as what one typically imagines when one thinks 'DD' (which would be 34 or 36DD). 28DD = 30D = 32C = 34B, so a 28DD holds the same cup volume as a small-average 34B. You say you wear a 34C now, though. Does this size fit you well in the cup (check out the links below to get a good idea of what this should look like)? If a 34C fits you well in the cup, then you may actually need a 28DDD/E or 30DD (which would be same cup size as a 34C: 30DD=32D=34C).

Since you are 27.5", you probably will be able to very comfortably wear 30s in some brands, which you may be able to find in larger cup sizes at Nordstrom (but this is the only store where I've seen them). I would recommend checking out nearby speciality lingerie shops for 28 and 30 band sizes, or order online from places like figleaves.com where returning items is free. Make sure you try on a range of sizes (28D-DDD as well as 30C-DD).

  4. Isn't cup size the difference between the chest measurement and the rib?  wouldn't that make you an E, because it's a 5 inch difference?
