I need some help with cat situation....??

well i finally got my dad convinced my dad to get me a cat (but i cant get it right away) but i got a cat because i couldnt settle for a dog. and now every time i think of the cat im going to get, i think of a dog. Im really depressed now. What can i do?

Get the cat and deal with training it.  Don't get the dog right now.  A dog is more of a responsibility with training, walking, cleaning up after it, etc. and normally, cats and dogs can't live in the same home.  Ideally, dogs are more relaxed when the cat comes in, but not the other way around.  Get your cat home and be responsible for its care.  Once you do, you will be glad you don't have the added responsibility of the dog.

Are you sure you want to be a pet owner?  The live span of a cat is almost two decades, are you going to be there for the cat for that long?  Same for a dog--once the novelty wears off are you going to dump it at a shelter?

You really do need to make a total decision here.  This is for the lifespan of the pet, not just a 'gee I want one' thing.
