I am currently at community college but i plan to transfer to another community college in a different city. I also am planning to get my master's in social work. It is a major that is available at the university that i plan to attend.

So my question is when i graduate with my AA from community college what classes should i take in addition to the classes i have to take in order to transfer? I just need help finding the classes that would support my social work major at the university.

  1. If you know which school you're going to go to get into social work, ask the counselor which courses you should be taking at this level.  They should have a program guide that will show you the required courses and potential optional courses.  They can also check to see how many of your current courses satisfy their requirements for the bachelor's and/or master degree.  There may also be some prerequisite courses you'll need to take in order to fulfill your major requirements.  The counseling office should have all that information for you.

You may find that some of the classes you've taken at your current community college may need satisfy the general ed / basic requirements of the other school  The school that issues the degree is the one to check with to see which courses you need.
