Ok I am 27 and my fiance is 24.. we both like R&B, Rap, Rock, Pop ... pretty much all the hip new stuff thats out there... We are ok on wedding music for most of the reception..being that we have a DJ, but we have to pick the songs for the Processional, Recessional, unity candle lighting...etc .. I know they have alot of websites that are supposed to help with this, but i am just so confused.. any suggestions... i know i dont want it to seem too stuffy.. but i want it to be formal too..

  1. i think, just make a new arrangement your favorite song to be more slow music...

  2. I have found this awsome web site it has suggestions for songs for every part of the wedding, and any kind of music. It helped a lot when we picked our music! http://www.weddingwire.com/shared/Weddin...

    I hope this helps you as much as it helped us!!!!

  3. My bridesmaids are walking down the aisle to someone playing Coldplays "Clocks" on the piano. I think it will be awesome. How about just a musical arrangement of one of the songs you like?

  4. Hi there, I didnt find the websites much helpful either, alot of people use that cannon D song although I like to be a little different and go for something that means something to me

    I love film soundtracks, here is were i got my music inspiration from

    my dad and I love the last of the mohicans so  I have chosen this song to walk down the isle to:

    the glade

    I havnt made up my mind about the bridesmaids song, but i might keep it to the same theme and go for cora's song

    so for you, just go to YouTube.com and search your favourate classic films and their soundtracks e.g. braveheart, LOTR etc

    But if you want a song with words, thats another story and harder too

    ps;

    Oh and if its a long song, you can time it during the rehersal and when you get to the groom make sure someone in charge of sound turns the volume down to fade it out before turning it off and starting the next song.

  5. I'd go with traditional music for your ceremony activities. I recently attended a wedding where they played various types of music and it was really awkward, because they waited for the songs to end before they went on to the next step, so everyone was standing for 4 minutes while the bride only took 45 seconds to walk down the isle and everyone was looking around wondering what was going on. I would suggest just getting someone to do a simple piano melody, something sweet, during the candle ceremony, and have a more upbeat piano melody while you're exiting. This would be much simpler and could be "cut off" before the end of the song, and wouldnt be abrupt like an actual song.

  6. I'm using Pachabels "Canon in D" for the processional and Beethoven's "Ode to Joy"  for the recessional. Those are both traditional and formal  For the unity candle ceremony, followed by communion and signing of the marriage license, we are using a Christian song called "How Beautiful" by Twila Paris.
