I need some help with this please! Whats minimum wage in vancouver?

Hey, I've submitted a resume to this diner and I really want to work there! I asked a waitress if she could pass it on to the boss (who wasn't there at that time) and she said yeah sure! I also asked her how much they pay and she told me 8 dollars an hour.

Isn't minimum wage 8.75?

What can I do?

If he doesnt hire me can I say I can report you because you underpay? lol

$8.00 an hour, plus a $6.00/hour "training/first job wage" for the first 500 hours you have ever worked.  

And no, you can't report them since they're not doing anything wrong.  I don't know where you got $8.75, but BC has the second lowest minimum wage in Canada.  

If you really want the job, I suggest you go back and ask for the manager.  Be persistent.  Or, at the very least, CALL and ask if he even got the application in the first place.  Either way, it would show that you really want the job, though it would be better to actually go there as opposed to just calling.
