  1. The solution to this problem can seem difficult at first, but once you learn it's fine, so:

To import music/video into your movie:

1.click the blue 'tasks' button at the top of your screen

2.under '1. capture video' click "import audio or music"

3.Find the file and click OK.

4.Drag the file from the 'collections' box into your movie.

To cut a piece of music, simply hold the end and drag it.  For pictures this shortens the duration, but for music it cuts, not squashes.

You should be able to fit it to your picture pretty easily this way.

For more tips you can go to a site like www.windowsmoviemaker.com, has something for all levels of experience.

I hope this answers the question, so good luck!

  2. I'm in an internet cafe right now that doesn't have windows movie maker so I'll just try to use my windows experience to solve your answer. In the part where you clicked import audio, a box appears (it's maybe named "import audio" box) that enables you to find your file, right? In that "box", there are two text boxes below. One is where you type the file name while the other one is where you choose the file type. In the file type box, choose "all files (*.*)". Then that's when your files will appear. But that is if my recollection is correct. Also, be sure you audio or music file is in mp3 or wav file format because movie maker won't import it in other format.

To cut your song from 3:23 to 1:30, first click the "timeline" button. Then place your mouse pointer at the end of the song (that's the song that you dragged from your collections and placed under your movie or video). Wait until the mouse pointer turns into a double-headed red arrow and then click and drag the arrow to the left until the length of the song is as long as the video. Did you get the picture?
