I should travel to Switzerland (Engadine) in September for the first time. First of all, do you know which airport is the nearest to Engadine? Next, I need some information about the city. What kind of city is it? Big, small? Climate? Tell me, please, everything you know about this city... I have read something, but I want to hear somebody's experience...

  1. Engadine is not a city, it's a valley in the southwestern canton of Graubunden.

I don't know what's the closest airport, but you can take the train from Zurich, takes about 3 hours, very lovely route.

There are no "cities" in Engadine. St. Moritz is the most famous, but with around 4000 people it barely qualifies as a town. It's very pretty, wildly expensive. In September I'd guess around 10C most days, maybe a little warmer. I get the impression it's usually sunny there. I doubt there's much show around.

    Scuol is also really cool.

  2. The Engadin is a mountain region and not a city. A famous place there is St. Moritz, Celerina. In September the weather should still be nice but pack a few warm pullovers etc. for the nights. The nearest "Airport" is in Samedan but mostly used for private Jets. Zürich Internation Airport is approx. 3-4 hours by car away. The region is lovely with snow-covered mountains, lakes a great for hiking. Enjoy...
