  1. Medicaid, through your state children's health insurance program.

    That's it.   Sorry.

  2. Many individual insurance plans come with a pre-existing condition policy.  This means that once you have the condition(i.e.pregnancy) they will not cover it at all.  The only other optiion you have is to get some type of state assistance if your income is not too high.

  3. I used http://www.nationalinsurancesite.com/hea... to find a provider for my wife and I. I highly recommend them. They will give you quotes from all the well known providers so you can choose the plan that best suits you. Give them a try.

  4. No individual health carrier will issue coverage to someone who is currently pregnant, in fact they won't even issue coverage to the husband of a pregnant spouse.

If you have the option of joining your employers group plan that would be your best bet. Group insurance does not excluded pre-existing conditions.

If finding a new job with group insurance is not an option there are a few other things you can do.

If you get in touch with your hospital and make arrangements to prepay for the delivery they usually give you a substantial discount. I  have seen a $5,000 deliver charge get prepaid at $3,5000

I normally don't recommend discount plans but in you case the options are limited. The Maternity Card, this is a discount plan that gets you access to hospitals and doctors at the same discounted network price insurance companies get. In fact they guarantee if they don't save you more than the program cost they will refund you the full price plus $100.

  5. Unfortunately, no individual policy will accept you if you are already pregnant. That's like trying to buy home insurance after your house burns down.

You have two options. The first is either you or your hubby gets a job with health benefits that cover maternity. Group policies cannot deny you based on pregnancy and they must cover without any pre-existing condition clauses.

The second option is to check your state's Medicaid and SCHIPS plans. You must qualify based on income and assets but the limits are higher and it's easier to qualify for pregnant women.

Do not buy those maternity discount cards. IF you can find a provider willing to accept them your discount will be no better than paying cash.

  6. first of all, that what u need, health insurance or life insurance , if u want to go life insurance ,life insurance nothing but life cover butwith ulip plan its return also, but u want to go for health insurance that is cover only health means hospitalisation and bills , but life insurance for prgnant will b with add extra charge for that, means prm.so better go after ur deliverly and u will get cover urself and ur baby also.

  7. Many state funded programs (medicaid or or similar program) offer coverage for pregnancy and they allow a much higher income to qualify. Check those out first.

The only other thing you can do is contact your dr (OB and delivering hospital) and see if they have a cash rate. Most do since pregnancy is often not covered by insurance. You may also need to make sure that you make allowances for epidurals and the well baby pediatrician charge.

You may qualify for assistance at county facilities that offer a sliding fee schedule based on your income if none of the other options apply.
