  1. Oh, I'm so sorry. I know how you feel. I'm a music major and need to know 10 songs by Aug 21st. Here's my advice...

Most marching songs are repeatitive. Find the pattern.

Next, take it phrase at a time. Unless you are a bass player, the songs have a rhythm and reason for them. Usually, you are playing the words that a vocalist sings.

Type your song title into Youtube! There is almost always a song video. You can listen to how it fits together and often times the band arrangements show and you can listen to a band do it.

Remember how many sharps and flats are in the song, then you won't make that error.

Use your ears and watch yourself in a mirror.

Best of luck. I know how ya feel.

    Hope this helped you

  2. OK well I'm in band too and i play y=the tuba the way that i remember it is i Will somehow get the music on my computer and then i will sit down and listen and look and when i find something hard stop look at it and work it out and it always helps me

  3. First of all, a good way to memorize without really thinking about it is play it over and over and over and over and over AGAIN!  I promise it works!

But it may be more beneficial for you to take one measure, or even one phrase at a time and play that over and over again.  Try it once with the music, then close your eyes.  And keep going back and forth.

    Good Luck!  Thanks for reading!
