ok so my school is having a tennis tournament to see who will get into the top 15. i am currently number 21, something i am not proud of. so my question is... how can i clear all negative thoughts out of my mind because the coach told me he thought i was going to be in top 5.. and that really stuck to me and turned me negative. but i want to focus more and every time i think of a negative thought, i hit the ball out ! HELP MEEEEE

and does anyone have any tips to hit a nice tennis serve ?

thank you... i have a limited amount of time to get to where i want to be.

  1. daily practice.

play in the morning & afternoons whenever possible

play with all types of opponents

practice walling, serving until ya tire, have a rest then do it again until it's perfect

hit harder every time the ball returns back to ya & be accurate with every shots ya make

imitate your idol & all the great player's styles pf play

imagine them as you in the court

if ya get the rhythm then ya will be the champion like I did

  2. Take a deep breath and clear your mind. You know how to play already. Try to stop thinking and just let your body move. You'll be amazed at how well you do.

  3. What I've found is that the serve is all in the ball toss. If your serve is constantly going out then your ball toss is most likely too far back (towards you), so make your toss go forward a little more. Remember tennis is supposed to be fun. Try to get as much of the pressure out of your head as possible and have fun. Maybe start humming a song that your really like to relax.

  4. you need to calm down between every shot, play each shot in the each as a separate thing. don't think about the shot that you just missed or the game you just lost. just think about that one point that you are playing. concentrate on watching the ball and developing a good sense of where to hit it. also, a major pointer is to develop a sense of where you're opponent is going to hit the ball. knowing where they're gonna hit, you can't miss! and about your serve, just remember to contact the ball as high as you can and snap your wrist down to get more pace on the ball. hope that helped!

  5. Just think "even Roger Federer makes mistakes." He made 45 unforced errors in one of his matches. On your serve, I would get the racquet behind your head and make sure when you jump you land on your left leg.

  6. try not to think about winning all the time, and just focus on playing well.  don't hit winners right off the bat and just construct the point.  you are pressuring yourself too much.  just relax and play the best that you can.

    GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!
