I need some major help with ECERS-R?

I am trying to use the ECERS-R in my classroom but can't figure out how to score it? Any tips on how to use ECERS-R

Start with the things listed in 1. If any of them are true, stop there and score the item a 1. Look at the items in three. If all are true, score a three. If the majority are true, score a 2 and stop. If you made a three, look at 5 and use the same system.You do not move on to the next column unless all the items in a column are met or N/A. In other words, unless everything in 3 is true you cannot move to 5, and anything in one stops the process. Make sure to read all the footnotes and explanations. If you want an over-all score, add up the scores for each section and divide by the number of sections scored. Hope this helps.
