Question:

I need some really basic information about butterflies?

Where do they live? What do they eat? Where do they spend most of their time? What other insects are they closely related to? Why are butterflies important to our environment?

I know these are simple. And I only need simple answers. But I don't want to look through huge research pages to search for little facts like "butterflies mostly drink nectar" and "they help pollinate flowers" So can anyone help me out?

Above the pictures of the monarch butterflies are various aspects of the insect.  Click on any one to learn more.  If you want to look up another type its name in the search box or just type butterflies and you will get a great number of pictures.  Click on one picture and you will get pictures of just that butterfly and the information on it.

Butterflies are closely related to moths both are in the order Lepidoptera. Another reason besides brightening up our days butterflies are important is they pollinate many flowers but you already knew that..
