  1. If it is warm enough, you could take them to Southbank for the day - there is a great little "beach" there (very shallow, and would even suit the 8 month old), and also places to have a picnic, kick a ball, etc and I'm pretty sure I heard that they have activities there in the holidays. I'm also pretty sure, if memory serves me correctly, there is an indigenous museum too, which the kids may find interesting.

I'm not from Brisbane, but I have visited for work before, and used to take my son with me when I travelled so we could also combine it with some fun time together.

I just found a website then with info about it.... you may find some other ideas there too.

Also, check out the second website - it seems to have lots of stuff and may be updated with events leading up to school hols.

  2. well go out to like the park or something like that i dont know if you have any dollar stores around there but if you do you could go to them maybe find some stuff to do inside such as crafts coloring broad games things like that.

  3. well my favorite is MOVIES.. it gets expensive but i try to make sure i buy all the new kids movies when they come out .. they keep them quiet for at least an hour or so.. you could also go and buy some crayons and coloring books just keep some on stash and have color time.  you can even join in.. ((i love coloring)).. puzzles are also something that will keep them busy for a little while..

if its not too hot or raining.. there is the park.. that will get them good and ready for a nice nap.. which will give you a little break.

you can look up kid friendly recipes and have the kids make cupcakes or something..

craft time.. go down to your local craft store and buy a few things and let the kids create some art.

There are all sorts of ideas to keep kids busy

  4. Having 4 kids isn't just a "money" issue...but also the issue of being able to handle them especially on an outing.

As far as things to do to keep them entertained, some suggestions I have are:

1.) try having a scavenger hunt in and around your house, like a treasure hunt. Either make a list of things they have to find (like a penney, a red shoe, a rubberband, etc.) or a treasure map with a clue to the next item. They can do this together.

2.) Crafts. Get poster board and stick glue. Let them collect small twigs, leaves, grass, and cut out construction paper and make collages, or pictures. be sure and give them all the tools they need...glue, crayons, safe scissors etc.

3.) You can look up 'kid friendly' recipes on the internet. Like cupcakes that have gummy worms crawling out, or happy face pancakes.

4.) Read them a book, then help them make up a play, or dance routine to a favorite song.

5.) let them play Karaoke contests, and sing along to CD's or the radio.

6.) If it still warm where you are, turn on a sprinkler while they play on their swing set...

    Hope these help!!!

  6. imagination. let them play outside. it builds character and helps them develop many life skills if you don't over-supervise. (problem solving, integrity, etc). they should be able to entertain themselves.
