Question:

I need some sort of advice or something to deal with my dog?

Okay, so I have this 5 month old husky (http://i37.tinypic.com/6f38t2.jpg) Havoc. We got him around Aug 2nd and I'm sort of concerned about him in a way. I don't know if anything is wrong with him, or it's just how he is. Or even something else.

Havoc doesn't act like a puppy. He just lays in my room all day unless he's outside. It's a fenced in yard with 5 other huskies to play with. He will run and play with them for awhile then will come up onto the deck and lay in the corner. When he comes in, he goes straight to the room and lays there again. It's NOT because he's tired because he does this even when he doesn't run around. (I posted another question like this before, but I deleted it, and most of the answers were people saying he's tired, no) if I try to take him for walks, like down to the park, we get to the middle of the field and he will just lay down and not move. I literally have to pick him up because he won't move for anything; pulling him, waiting, calling his name, giving him treats, nothing works to get him up to walk again. I don't think it's hurting him to walk neither. Sometimes when we walk around the block he'll walk fine.

Besides the walking problem, whenever someone goes near him when he's in the kitchen or something other than the room where he sleeps, he tries to run away from them. He's obviously shy. But how do I break that?

Does anyone have any ideas on what's going on here and/or how i can make him more energetic or whatever?

  2. SOUNDS LIKE HE WAS ABUSED  BEFORE U GOT HIM  AND DOESNT FEEL THE TLC TAKE HIM OUT  TO A DOGGY PARK THAT MIGHT WORK HE CAN DO WAT EVER HE LIKES   OPEN AIR ROOM TO RUN.

  3. mmm this is a hard one....wel first of all let him go to the people because maybe when people aprouch him it scares him....but back to the main proble...i think he needs you to sit down with him and toss a ball around or just play with him...get him excited...also it might be his food... somtimes dogs act wierd when there food is upseting them...try changeing it

  4. He may be feeling a little intimidated by all the other dogs.  Maybe a little bit of more one on one time with him might help.  Like the others said, he may have been abused somehow in his past home, so he is shy of strangers.  Spending more time with him may help this out also.  If you get some of your friends to play with him it may help also.  He may not know how to play either, so you may have to show him how to play with toys.  Huskies usually like the rope tug toys to play with.  As far as the not walking, I would advise you to ask your vet about this one.  There may be something physically wrong with him that medication may help.  If you haven't had him to the vet in awhile, maybe a visit would help.
