I need some tips and advice with school...?

I am 13 years old, going into the 7th grade. I've been home schooled all my life. Not very well, if you ask me, but anyway... this fall I'm going into a public school, because I hate homeschooling. From what I've heard it's pretty bad. Only about 300 students, basically an outhouse to the high school, poor kids, probably a lot of violence... but it's the only school in my district. Are there any tips to help me survive?

hey my advice is to just be yourself i"m sure there will be some nice people you'll meet there they won't all be the same people just don"t get caught up with the wrong group follow your heart and don't get pressured into anything i'm sure you"ll be fine

No matter where you go, the only thing you can do is make sure you are doing what you know is right for you.  Don't worry about what others think - there are some who will use that to control you.  Don't prejudge people either - first impressions are not always accurate and never fair.  And remember, your perception of how much people are noticing you (and what they are noticing), is often distorted by what you are worried about them noticing.

Eventually, though, everybody grows up, and school doesn't last forever (Thank goodness!)  Lots of luck!

From what I can see, you must have been home schooled at least fairly well. Your grammar, spelling, and maturity level tends to go above and beyond that of many 13 year olds.

As for your mentioning poor kids.. except for their clothes and lack of opportunity, they are no different than kids with money. Try not to judge people on socioeconomic differences.

There is a saying: "Life is what you make it." Try going into the school year thinking of what positive things can happen (daily socialization with peers, making new friends, maybe participating in extracurricular activities, etc). Good luck!
