  1. As a teacher, you must begin your classroom discipline at the beginning of the class. You must orient your class on how they should behave and set some agreement with your students on the consequences that will happen to them if they'll commit mistakes. During classes hours, in order to have classroom management present some rewards and punishments like earning some points and deducting some points. Or else, do it like a game that they can be encouraged to do necessary things in class.

  2. Tell the students the rules on day one and be consistent EVERYDAY! Wen you slack, so will they.

  3. I suggest positive reinforcement for the students who demonstrate appropriate and desired classroom behaviors. Of course, there should be consequences for inappropriate behavior as well.

Know your students. I've had some students in the past who found it difficult to sit still through lessons. I often gave them a simple task to work on during lessons as long as they were paying attention.

Some students need more warnings and redirection than others. You may need to set goals for these students. I usually have at least one student that needs a point sheet or some kind of visual reminder on his/her desk.

Follow through with your discipline. If you say you are going to call parents, then call parents. If you say the student must sit out during recess, then be sure to have the student sit out.

Keep parents in the know. I send home daily folders, which include a behavior/homework sheet. I mark each student's folder every day. The parents are expected to sign every day. If I notice the folder is coming back unsigned, I make a phone call to make the parents aware of the folder and any concerns I may have.

Keep a visual. I teach first grade. I usually have a clip chart by the door. Each student has his/her name on a clip (clothespin) which can move up or down throughout the day. All clips start on good day.

Read Harry Wong's The First Days of School if you haven't already. He's got plenty of good ideas.

  4. Minimal transitions/down time... the less time students have to goof around, the better

Make sure that the lessons hold the students' attention.  If it is interesting to them, they will be less likely to misbehave

Make sure that the students know the rules and that you enforce them.  It would be great to develop class rules with the students, which will increase their accountability.

Show the students that you are there for them.  If they respect you (and you respect them) and the classroom is a supportive environment, they are less likely to act out.

You must really see how the students are in the classroom.  What works great one year for a group of students may fail miserably the next.  If the group is a great group of kids, you may not need to be as strict in regards to classroom management.

  5. Do you mind me asking what you will be teaching and when? Your spelling leads me to believe that you are not going to be working as a regular classroom teacher, and that may change the nature of the advice that I would have to offer.

Different settings and roles really do demand different discipline techniques. What works in an academic classroom may not be appropriate for, say, Sunday school.

  6. there are few tips listed in www.getmybooks.blogspot.com  like the one listed below

    teacher help "

        * You can't refrain the students calling out your name every now and then, when i was teaching kindergarten with 40 students I have to come up with something to minimize the noise. I cut out the word "teacher help me " using different colors and paste it on a popsicle stick. I placed one on each students table sticking it on a piece of styro. I then explained to my students that everytime they need something, they can just pick it up and raise it without talking. It took this 2 days to work and I found it effective to control noise.
