Question:

I need some tips on how to remember things....?

I'm just so absentminded sometimes, and I'm just getting worse! This week, I lost my cell phone on a coffee run, AND, on a different occasion, I left my purse at a restaurant. On top of that, I haven't seen my sunglasses in 3 days! I feel pretty stupid knowing that I'm that lost in my own world...

Anyone else like that--forgetting things EVERYWHERE, no matter how big or important it is? How did you solve it? Any good tips or tricks?

Thanks a lot for your help :D

Also, I'm not quite sure where this question would go, so I guessed. *cough* If you know of someplace better, I'll put it there. Thanks!

  1. Tape everything to yourself.

  2. u need sleep and water.sounds like ur deprived of the things that keeps ur brain functionin properly. either that or ur preoccupied.... stressed? life changing decisons to be made. whateva it is fix up. :)

  3. What I would start to do is to just get a little more organized. Start putting your keys on a hook at home by your purse, start to have a spot in your purse for your cell phone.

For me it works to stay organized, as a look around now things are not and it is driving me insane!

  4. Ah!

In your Additional Details you give a very relevant piece of information.

It's common to go super-absent-minded during pregnancy. So you're just going to have to cope.

You might let people around you know of this phenomenon, so they can help you.

You can TRY things like checklists: When you get up, ask yourself all of what you need (Did I pay the check? Tip? Do I have my purse? My keys? My coat? My phone?) and so on. (When you leave the house, take inventory, so you can ask yourself the right questions as you go about your day.)

When you put something down, try to stop for a few seconds, and notice that you've put this thing down here.

But, as I say, this is common for the pregnant. You may just have to wait it out, and get the people around you to help you in the meantime.

And there's using stickie notes to leave reminders to yourself in various relevant places.

When you think of something you'll need to do, write it on a sticky and put it some place where you'll see it at the apropriate time.

Even if it seems silly sometimes to do so, go for it.

Put things you need to take with you in your way, so you can't leave without tripping over them, or at least seeing them.
